Are people still using mod_dosevasive? We can't find it online anywhere, as the link that is always referred to appears to be gone. Or is there something better these days, as mod_dosevasive appears to be several years old and perhaps no longer being developed/supported?

I have it, I don't remember where I got it from.

Have you found it to be useful?
Anyone else have info on where to get it or if there's now something better out there to help mitigate DOS attacks?

I don't use or recommend them, I find they're very inaccurate and often block valid clients.
I recommend and use this script

Thanks. I'd appreciate the attachment. Based on response to this thread, it doesn't seem like it's a very popular mod. Has it helped you? Any concerns about future compatibility since it's not supported any longer?
We'll also take a look at the MediaLayer program.

I generally don't use it unless there is an active attack, it can sometimes help then a little bit depending on the attack type. I would not leave it installed if there was not an attack in progress.
Depending on the site being attacked and the caching mechanism you have active the gain may be small anyways.

I have it installed, but disabled. I keep it setup "just in case" I need it. Here are links to mod_evasive:
