My server will randomly crash. Sometimes it will go days without crashing, sometimes it will crash 2 or 3 times a day. I have one instance of cod 2 running on it that is all. Machine is P4 3.4ghz with 2gig of ram. For unknown reasons the instance will just crash. Cod 2 logs show no apparent problems whatsoever. This is the error I am seeing in the even viewer. Any clues why this is happening? I have deleted the instance, re-installed using Cortex and still the same problems. This is getting to be very frustrating.

Any help is greatly appreciated as well.

I am not sure if this is your problem, but isn't the whole COD series succeptable to BOF attacks?

Scan your cod log for "Server Command Overflow Error" or just "overflow".

If it is the BOF, all you can do is check the logs and try to see who did it. Once you find them ban them via pb so they don't return. But another idiot can come in and do the same, becomes a constant battle.

That is one think I truely don't miss from the Quake engine games. All were susceptible to BOF attacks.

Well following that link to Microsoft's help produces some results...

Do you also error with an Error ID of 1001?

Not like it really tells you what is the problem but let it be a basis of what to research from, maybe you will be able to track the problem down.
