Full Version: ns2.rackshack.net isn't the same as ns1.rackshack.net

Hi,

When we first got our Cobalt raq (December), we were using the Rackshack name servers (mainly because we only have one server, so a self-run name server isn't feasible). After about 4 months, it stopped updating properly - for some reason ns2.rackshack.net was not a duplicate of ns1.rackshack.net.

The big problem with this is, with .com.au domains (we are in Australia, so we deal with a lot of them), unless both the primary and secondary name servers are set up properly the registrar will not accept the delegation.

We have been using a third party name server setup, but the costs are starting to become prohibitive. We have lodged 2 trouble tickets, but every time they look at it, the just delete the most recently added domain (but next time you add a domain, the problem is still there). The hardest thing is that when you "view DNS transfer status" it always reports both ns1 and ns2 being updated correctly.

My question is has anyone else had this problem? If so, is there a fix for it? If not, how would I be able to report this so the tech support people will be able to understand what I am asking?

Thanks in advance,

Chris

Sorry everyone, looks like the problem has now been rectified. I obviously didn't wait long enough after submitting the domain to the name server, and because of the problems we'd had before just assumed it was the same problem.
