what are the differences between these servers? What is better?

I am an Intel fan, but found the Opterons to be quite powerful. I have not used the Woodcrest Xeons but would expect them to handle just as good if not better.

Hey Simon, the best way to go at it is to check out this review from tomshardware http://www.tomshardware.com/2006/10/26/int...e_head_to_head/

It's a good review. I'm more of an AMD person, but there would always be a processor than the other one all the time.
