Good evening, I am a long time ensim users and I am wanting to give my users a little gift. I have taken complaints for years about the lack of "eye" candy in squirrel mail. I have seen some of the pay themes out there and really like them. However, I have no idea how to get these things installed.

In addition, I am using a centralized Squirrelmail provided by Gpan and I dont want to mess anything up.
Is anyone using any of these themes such as the ones from nutsmail.com ?

Please let me know asap.
UH-Matt
As your using gpan's central squirrelmail you have actually had all the hard work done for you.

Now you just need to overwrite the central squirrelmail install with the theme from nutsmail and it will be available to all your ensim users. Its very simple to do.

What is the location of the Squirrelmail install.

Ive never used the central install so cant answer that, but have you had a poke around for it or "locate squirrelmail" ?

From memory it could be in /var/www/ or /usr/local/ but not entirely sure.

I'm trying to acheive this too, but I'm getting errors. Did you ever get this to work? I've got Gpan's central Squirrelmail ( v1.4.8 ) installed at /usr/share/squirrelmail/ and when I replace it with the Nutsmail skin, I get the following error when I try to login to the new SM:

Error opening ../data/default_pref
Could not create initial preference file!
/var/squirrelmail/data/ should be writable by user apache
Please contact your system administrator and report this error

In the config, if I set the data and attachment dirs to a single site, it works great, but I just can't figure out how to get Nutsmail to work dynamically for all sites like Gpan's rpm.

Here is the config for Gpan's install:
$data_dir = "$SITE_ROOT/var/squirrelmail/data/";
$attachment_dir = "$SITE_ROOT/var/squirrelmail/attachments/";

This doesn't work for Nutmail.

If I set it for a single site, like:
$data_dir = "/home/virtual/domain.com/var/squirrelmail/data/";
$attachment_dir = "/home/virtual/domain.com/var/squirrelmail/attachments/";

it works (obviously only for one site though).

I'm sure it's something simple to get it working for all sites like the old central SM, so if anyone has any ideas it would be really appreciated. I'm sure this would be useful to others who want to get rid of the standard squirrelmail in favour of a better looking version!
