Full Version: Reaching my site via IP
The Planet Forums > System Administration > Network

Shouldn't I be able to access a web page on my new server via my IP address? I do have one account setup through WHM and a static html page in the home>accountname>public_html folder. But, what I get is the screen saying: Great Success ! Apache is working on your cPanel® and WHM™ Server. etc, etc, etc.

I can access :2087 and :2083.

I'm in the process of moving servers here at the planet and have not yet changed my DNS to point to the new server. Just not ready. But, I would like to do a little testing in the meantime. What should I look for?

Thanks,
Dan

That is the way Cpanel is made. To be able to view the site via the IP address, you will need to set it up as a static IP.

Alternatively, you can view it through http://serverip/~siteusername

Got it.

Thanks eddy2099!
