Well let me tell ya....

Tonight, I go to warhaus.com's little "dead Meat" server and everything was cool, no lag, blaa, blaa, blaa. Then out the blue in the middle of a round I get switched to the opposing team, which was getting stomped by us I might add. I don't know about you but this is pretty lame to me. So I throw out a "wtf" and there was no response so I followed with "lame ass server". Which I was immediately booted by the admin.


Now, I don't know about you but getting switched teams in the middle of a round has happened to me on several occasions and it's enough to make me put down the controller for the evening. So I tried to go to warhaus.com's little forum which he promptly suspended the accounts. Guess he didn't see the humor in a member name like "uresiteislame" lol..

So make a long story short, the problem with 2142 servers is the "admin's" with a god complex.

Dude, you screw up the game for players then you boot them when they have something to say about it, and you think your safe behind your little forum walls. Well, I'm hear to tell you it doesn't take much to throw up a little game server or a "pre-packed" forum for that matter, so don't think your doing anything. With half an effort I could get more links on the net saying how lame your server/forum is then you could ever work to get naturally. So, you might want to consider this next time you "over admin" your server....

Well BlackOps504 I consider it an honor that you have taken so much time out of your day to express yourself
here at the server forums. Not sure if I have seen anyone go to that much trouble just to call a server lame
so I to will go out of my way today to replay to you. Ober run's warhaus.com and I over see the game servers.
You could have just made a post over there and the ban would have been removed.

Autobalance is on full only because of EA and the way they set up the stock filter. The server will not show
up it the list of servers unless you have manually unchecked "autobalance". We prefer to use the BF2CC
"smart balance" that turns its self on or off as needed.

The reason you were banned on the spot is that I have told all my admins for years now if someone insults
the server, remove them so that maybe we can open a slot for a better player who is waiting to get into the
server. So with that being said, my admin did exactly what they were told to do as per my instructions. Also this
little 2142 server is a 64 player server that costs $139 per month.

Please do tell everyone you know about how lame Warhaus and the Dead Meat servers are. And if you can
run a better game server go for it. And "Lets be Friends" it would be in bad taste for me to post his info but if
anyone would like a PM with his CD hash let me know.

It's a bit Internet out there. If you don't like auto team switch then there are plenty of others to play on.

Why do people complain about Public Servers?

Everyone is differant in how they run/manage there server that They PAY for.

I have alway's said. "If you do not like the server, go rent Your Own"

It is far to easy to get your own server and run it as you see fit.
It is also better to just leave a server if you dilike how it is run.
Move on to a differant server or rent one your self...that is the easy way to get Just what U want form a server.

See all the power tripping admins are great, because we advertise just the opposite in my community. Lots of people have flocked to our game servers for the very reason, so in essence the typical eNerd admins help us out a lot.

The whole "if you don't like it, rent your own server" is EXACTLY what I did. We don't ban at the drop of the hat just to get excited to deal with forum drama later. We don't have "admin meetings" or chambers to retire to. We have very simple rules.

To put it simply, if your behavior or attitude is forcing people to leave, then a ban will be issued. Our job is to keep the games fun for other players, not look for excuses to ban people and then be nasty. The ego trip I'm sure is fun for a while but then when the high is gone, you will look to do it again.

This guy is pretty raged, while I don't agree that he is posting here, getting a ban over being team switched is pretty lame. Any excuse to flex those eMuscles.

I honestly think you are in love with yourself and think you are the safe haven for mistreated server guests. If you think appeasement or begging is an alternative to just getting rid of a nuisance you are more blind than I thought.

My server is open to people of all ages. And clan member's kids play in our servers. If some rude idiot is throughing around curse words he will be gone faster than he can type the next one. But you think letting the idiot remain in the server is higher moral ground? Give me a break.

Proper way to deal with bad people in your server is drag them outside and give them one to head.

Anyways, I'm saying there is more than one way to handle someone who is misbehaving rather than completely removing them. I'd rather be owed a favor than make an enemy. You sir are the blind one, because you use the ban stick as your first and final option when someone is misbehaving. I would rather correct the behavior, but if that is impossible, then I remove the person. I don't ban for cursing either, because if I believe that if children are going to play violent video games they should be able to deal with the language that is permitted within the age range. Since I run servers that are all 17+ games for the most part, if children want to play on our servers thats fine, but no special accommodations will be made.

Like I said, I don't look for excuses to ban people, some admins do. If someone is a consistently a problem they will be removed, however for first time offenders a ban is simply out of the question.

If that makes you a better admin than me, so be it. I really don't care. I never said anything about appeasement or begging as alternatives, but often people will misconstrue what others say so it makes it easier to fit into their arguements, which in turn become severely flawed.

Ok this is my server we started talking about here.
You server your rules, everyone has different guidlines.

BlackOps504 was in my server typing crap then he goes the the forum
were we rent the server from. What kind of a person goes to that
much trouble? And I bet he doesn't continue making posts at other
forums because he has seen other peoples veiw on his actions so far.

My admins do not power trip because they are doing exacty what I
have told them to do and how I would like my server to be ran.
You want to call me power tripping for banning someone who does
not like my server and is sucking up my bandwidth then so be it.
They way I look at it is my servers are popular and if someone
does not like it then they need to leave and make room for someone
who does want to be there.

In my 2142 server I currently only have one person on the ban list
and if he would have made a post at Warhaus or gave me a PM or E-mail
I would have removed him from the list.

FireWater if you want BlackOps504 in your server then more power to you.
And a question for you Fire, do you update your PB ban list or do you allow
those people in your server also? Maybe you need all the players you can?

He didn't say he didn't like the server while he was still there, he was just mad that he got team switched in game. He said a few words, then he got banned. It wasn't till after the ban he said that the server sucks.

Again I am not defending his actions, I just said that your admins are very quick to ban. I cannot believe that he is the only person, unless of course you just cleared it recently, I can't imagine in large server like that he is your only ban.


Hrmm a personal attack without knowing what game servers I run, you are a credit to your community. Sorry, I do not know what a PB ban list is, as in the HL2:S community that does not exist. If you took the time to visit my signature, you would see that we have 3 game servers up, none of which have to deal with battlefield series at all. But why gather facts when you can just insult right? Just keep rationalizing, I'm sure thats what you have done in the past, and will continue to do in the future, its cool man.

I don't know who blackops504 is, so its difficult to say whether or not I would want him in my server. But I am sure a warning would have sufficed before the ban stick was unleashed. Some people need to do that in order to feel important, and your an example of what admins not to recruit as I will be referencing this thread to those who aspire to become potential admins on my servers.

My admins are doing exactly what I have told them to do.
The BF2142 server is two months old. The players that I have seen in 2142 are different than those in BF2. Alot more team work and no waiting in line for planes. Also very little team killing and problems with language.

OMFG you dont even run the same server as us. We did have a CS:Source server back when it first came out and yes we had different rules than our BF1942 and BF2 servers.

The Warhaus Dead Meat servers, especially the DC one have always been a first choice of mine when I go pubbing outside my own server, Web gets the from this humble admin.

I believe an essential point has been missed, here.
When you enter another's domain(whether it be their business, their home, or their game server), you are a guest.
Guests are expected to adhere to the "house rules" of the host. One generally accepted rule of society: It is not polite to display disrespect to the host.
I play frequently on the DeadMeat servers, as well as many others, and take the time to familiarize myself with the "house rules", of each.

One such rule that DeadMeat/Warhaus does, indeed, clearly state: showing disrespect towards the server may result in a warning/kick/ban. Quite often, such bans are temporary, and all may certainly be appealed in an informed, calm manner, on the DeadMeat/Warhaus forums.
Secondly, it is made equally clear, on DeadMeat, that auto-balance is on. This means, anyone may be automatically team-switched, in order to maintain equitable teams. It is not personal; it happens to all of us, from time to time.

If a server's rules are not to your liking, then, by all means, it would probably not be prudent for you to play on that server.
Example: If I don't like the menu, rules or service at a tavern, I don't frequent it. No harm, no foul. The same goes for game servers: If I don't like the maps, the game, or the rules, I don't play there.
With that in mind, comparing two different servers is, frankly, apples & oranges.

I feel anyone has the right to voice there opinion... provided they are familiar with all the factors, and do so in an informed, reasonable manner.
IMHO, this was not the case with the original post from "warhausislame".

On a personal note: There are many players, myself included, that consider in-game-complaining-chat to be exceedingly disruptive. More often than not, such as in this case, the complaints are based upon an incomplete knowledge of the server rules and/or conditions.

A lot of people like to play in well managed servers and what i mean by that is admins that have rules that when there broken they act on it. I personaly dont like it when im trying to play and some kid thinks like this guy that they can just tell the admin what to do its there server and i would rather play on aserver where rules are inforced then where they are not
