I guess this will be my last, perhaps epic, diatribe against BFROE's involvement with Insomnia. Who even says diatribe? Nobody.

I don't remember how I originally found the Insomnia servers. I used to just play Daqing all day, but interspersed with the various other helicopter laden maps. When I first started playing in the Insomnia servers, I did what I always did -- I got in a helicopter and redzoned my gunner. I think I even redzoned Seabiscuit a time or two, what a sucker.

The point is, enough people told me they were going to report me to klaude, and they finally did. I had spoken with klaude, and after doing so he decided not to ban me, and let me continue to play at Insomnia servers given that I didn't redzone anymore gunners.

So, after that, I kept coming back to the Sharqi server and playin' entirely too much Sharqi. Sharqi is just fun stuff no matter which team you're on. For about six months, I think I played almost exclusively in the Insomnia Sharqi server.

It became apparently that klaude didn't have the time, or whatever reason it was, to actively monitor the Insomnia server and they were getting pretty full of lame players. Through whatever course of action, BFROE came to Insomnia and there was much rejoicing. I think everyone, initially, was glad that there was going to be some active administration taking place. I know that I was glad to have them around.

For me, it didn't take long before BFROE's involvement wasn't turning out quite the way I had anticipated. I don't really care to get into all of that -- "that" as in, what I had anticipated BFROE to be/accomplish. I think that'd probably be a worthless discussion, as nothing would be resolved.

Anywho, I've been gone for about a month during the holidays, I came back yesterday, and today I managed to get myself banned -- and there was just much rejoicing? Little did I know, but I've terroristic tendencies.

The offending statement, that resulted in me being banned, was that of, "I hope everyone involved with BFROE gets firebombed on their birthdays," or something very close -- I don't remember exactly. As in accordance with BFROE policy, a thread was made on their forums, and I replied to it. I wasn't going to reply to it, but when I was banned it was done so with a question, "firebombed??," and I couldn't leave the question unanswered.

I was quickly banned thereafter for a "terroristic threat" as it was so deemed. I would hope that I wouldn't need to elaborate on why that's a less than appropriate rationality for banning me. I think it would've been a bit more fitting for banning me for, "breaking the forum EULA," or whatever it was I agreed to when I registered. Then again, maybe there's that, "You will not threaten the members of this forum with acts of terror, which include, but are not limited to face burning, kidnapping, or firebombing," clause, but who knows, right?!

Gaahhh, I had quite a bit more to say, but I'm drifting into that awesome drowsiness that NyQuil has gifted me with, but I'm beginning to think I shouldn't take over-the-counter stuff on top of the prescription medicine I'm taking -- I think they all have some drowsiness side-effect. What am I babbling about? In no way is being sick awesome.

I believe in what bfroe stands for...however i do not believe in how they go about enforcing what they stand for. Trepid is an excellent player. And yes he did redzone me a time or two way back when..and boy was i pissed lol. me and my buddies used to hunt him down regardless of team till he was dead lol. Neways since then..it has been a pleasure playing with him. He is totally a team player now. Never cusses...which i never see in insomnia. Is alwayshelping out the team taking out enemy armor/air whenever spotted. He is one of the best helo pilots in the game that i have yet to see. I can not believe you banned him for expressing his opinions. He made that statement merely as a joke. Something to crack people up. In no way was he serious.

Actually other than the few of you that feel your being wronged by BFROE admining the Insomnia servers the majority of the players welcome us and play right beside us. I've never seen the servers not full when your not on so we all have a choice where we play and thats a choice you will have to make for yourselves. THB I feel you would whine at any admin brought in to handle the servers so alot of this is a mute point.

Just to let you know that Indian is one of the most respected members of the BF2 community and I doubt that most of you would donate the time that he puts in to help the community. Whether we're here or not I'm sure with time you will a server admin for these servers so it's something we all have to deal with, hell maybe some of you should get down off of your boxes and try to help instead of slinging mud.

After u guys started admin i posted in the forums trying to get across the points that needed to be worked on. When that was still kinda iffy i started joining you guys on teamspeak to talk and hang out and get to know you guys to see what you were really like. Ask tin soldier, ranger, shifty, shocker..i am on all the time helping out with guys tking and what not. After hanging out with you guys a few weeks i thought hey maybe i can help these guys make a difference in the servers so i applied thinking maybe i could help out and get these servers straightened out (At least while i was playing).

I never said you guys aren't doing good. I said sometimes some of your admin go bout it the wrong way. I understand u have a lot of new recruits and what not which is fine. It takes time to train and get all of em on the same page and in the right direction. Neways I am trying to help...regardless of what you think.

I guess I am still wondering as to the status of that ban. I would appreciate it if trepid were allowed to play in the servers again. As he was just expressing an opinion. It in no way affected neone or did neone really even comment on it besides maybe a little bit of chuckling. it was not a terrorist threat, merely just an expression. I understand it maybe have been uncalled for from your point of view. In no way did it warrant the kind of attention that it drew. People are going to hate you and people are goign to love you. Allowing them to express opinion for and against you is a sign of maturity.

I ask you to please repeal this ban and just warn him or let him know your stance on statements like that before you take such action. Besides, what happened to the 3 warnings as posted in a prior thread.

Indian also said that he will need to get a new HDD, GPU, network card, and game if he wants to play any EA games again.

My takes on all this.

First off, as a fellow admin of other games, I've been called Nazi, idiot, terrorist, first amendment hater, hacker and so on. You simply laugh at it. Can't take it Dacster, get out of the kitchen. Many of non i365 freeloaders own their own gameservers. Trying to tell us we don't know what you go through is simply retarded.

Second off, the fact that BFROE staff has been ordered not to post here shows me they can't take criticism when they don't have moderator rights. That's generally a bad sign.

Third off, I've yet to see any list of rules besides BFROE being posted which is ambivalent. I'd have to agree that many of your guys are making up rules as they go along.

Fourth off, why is i365 forum on BFROE site locked down to Registered Member only? That makes telling people to go search your forum for reasons of banning quite frustrating as they can't see without jumping through hoops.

finally...two regulars on these forums that actually support the gamers trying to get bfroe off the servers instead of people like fpspigs.com and other people just flaming the gamers and supporting bfroe.

It may be a moot point, but I don't know if I would call it a "job" so much as a volunteer who plays a game and kicks people out.

But really, who cares if the OP said something about a firebomb. It's Internet trash talk. I think a good moderator is defined by their discretionary use of their granted privileges, not by the frequency of their usage and controversy attracted.

And that said, just play at another server. If you feel like the pigs are running the farm, then rather than waste time with a silly power struggle "I'm going to kick you" "No, I'm going to cancel my servers! Take that! Hah-HAH!", just like, play on a different server maybe?

I don't get to play online games as much as I once did, but at the time I remember getting frustrated a lot by what I thought were dumb administrators and dumb rules. I would get kicked and banned based on accusations of another player with a grudge, that sort of stuff, and I would get so steamed up! And then I realized. HEY. I'll go start my OWN server. With hookers. And blackjack. And you get the idea.

Fact that you want me to PM you at BFROE is bothersome to me because it indicates you want to play somewhere where you have power. Here is fine. Regardless of your desire, i365 name is attached to server and yall will have to deal with people coming here instead of BFROE.

Second, yall require registration to even VIEW the i365 forums. That is part that needs to be changed. Nothing there is secret enough to hide from unregistered members.

This is only a thought but I believe a urinalysis and reality test should be conducted before posts are made. The test results would be indicate the state of mind a person is in when a post is made.

Just goes to show how childish this has become. The fact is that Kevin wants his servers ran a certain way and if you have a problem you should take it up with him. I guess your request to have BFROE removed hasn't been met so that to me says alot even without Kevin actually saying it if I'm wrong I apologize Kevin. Time to move on gentleman and get back to playing whether it's on Insomnia or some other server.

Kevin did not ask for the servers to be run exactly how they are. He just requested that BFROE admin them and enforce their rules. How could he have known what to expect?
