Hey guys, I'm currently in Dallas, Texas, and our group has had a server with you guys for quite awhile. I have always had great pings to The Planet. Usually within the 20's, sometimes even the teens (as low as single digits when I had Verizon Fios!).

I have Verizon DSL. My connection speeds haven't changed, as I'm still getting a rock-steady 2.8mb down and ~700kb up. Not nearly as great as my old Fios connection, but workable.

However, my pings to theplanet.com have suddenly spiked to the 70's over the past week or so, with seemingly no reason. My pings to other servers haven't changed, and I have not adjusted a single thing on my end. I am NOT saying there is an issue with our server, as others seem to be unaffected by my problem.

A trace route seems ordinary at around 20ms until it hits theplanet.com and rockets upwards to ~70ms.

I know you might very-well tell me that it's my ISP's issue (and it might, I'm not ruling that out in the least), but before I go and waste hours upon hours talking to barely trained monkeys, I figured I'd give this a shot.

Which server are you getting the increased latency on, or is it all of them? Are you playing from the same IP you made your post on? We can help localize this.

Sorry, no. I've been posting from my work.

I can post with a trace route and whatever else you need this evening around 7pm central.

And it seems my connection is lagging to all of The Planet, not just our server, but only from my home connection.

Most of my friends in the DFW area have sub 20 pings to theplanet.com. My work is literally .4 miles from my house, down the same street, and it's pinging at 10ms consistant.

I tried calling Verizon, and ended up almost becoming Emo. Almost. Dear god help me klaude!

Hehe. When you're home pm me that traceroute. I'll see if I can get the reverse patch and find out where the problem is.

Will do. Just found out I'm stuck here till 8pm, so it's probably going to be closer to 9pm.
