I highly advise that everyone does NOT upgrade to 8.1.0

I have done so and now my horde webmail is broken. I can still send and receive mail from IMAP but the horde software itself is broke. My clients are pissed and I am not sure what is wrong with it. I have been messing with it for the last 3 hours.

You never tested it before loading it on a production server ?!?

I only have 1 server at this time.

Its probably an easy fix to get Horde working again, I remember the 8.0.0 upgrade did that as well.

Any "features" in 8.1.0?

I have been messing around with Horde for 2 days now trying different things to try and get it functioning again. I have been careful because if I lose all the member preferences and saved info, they will be very angry.

I contacted Plesk directly to try and get some help, they refused and told me that I had to contact server matrix as they are the official support" because they are the "reseller" that I purchased plesk through.

I contacted server matrix and they will not do anything unless they go on the clock as "billable administrative" time. So at this point, I either continue troubleshooting it myself or cave in and pay for sm to work on it.

Describe the problem, I'll try and help you.

Okay, well. Let me begin by saying that the mail server functions properly. People can send and receive mail using an IMAP or POP client like Outlook.

The problem lies with Horde itself. After the upgrade, the users can no longer validate their passwords. When they open Horde (webmail.domain.com) and attempt to log in, the connection will finally timeout and they will not be able to log in.

This is not a big deal for me as I don't generally use Horde and I use Outlook, but for the typical client (who doesn't know any different) they are freaking out and paranoid that they are gonna lose all their email.

I assured them the mail is still being delivered and they will be able to check it as soon as we can fix the horde login validation issue but I don't know what is wrong. I have spent hours and hours trying different things.

Horde's mysql database is still intact and functional. I checked all the server and config files and they appear to be alright as well.

Thanks in advance.

I upgraded to 8.1 last night, with very few issues.

Mailenable broke after the install and reboot.
The MTA Server Service would crash when trying to restart. I had to download the lastest Mailenable and re-install it

My horde install is not working either (althought I cant say that it ever was. I can get to the login screen, but it ALLWAYS brings me back to the login screen no matter who I login as. What wierd is if I login with an invalid login, I get "Invalid Login" If I login with a valid login, I get brought back to the login screen anyway. Not to sure whats causing that, but I use HMailServer as my primary mailserver because it has free IMAP support, so it dont bug me anyway icon_cool.gif

The licence update from the control panel after the upgrade worked without issue, so no problems there.

One final note I guess. I was updating from 7.5.6 to 8.1. From the looks of things, you must be on 7.5.6 to go to 8.1. Prior versions of 7.5.x must be updated to 7.5.6 to be able to get to 8.1 properly.

Try seeing if there is anything in the horde log file.

it should be named either horde.log or psa-horde.log
