I just recently had an OS reload on my server to remove the BF2 ranked plug in option. What I am trying to do now is install PRMM for BF2 on my server, but I can't figure out how to do so. It's not supported by Cortex, and Cortex has made everything so easy for me, I guess you could say that I am spoiled. icon_lol.gif

I know I can connect through an FTP, and upload the files that way, but how do I find out the FTP address that I need to use, and am I supposed to use my Cortex login name/password, or my planet login name/password?

Thanks for the assistance. icon_smile.gif

You should have an administrator or root password for your system in Orbit that you can use to log into your box via RDP or SSH. Once logged in you should see a familiar shell or desktop, and you can do whatever you like from there.

Sorry if I sound ignorant, what is RDP, and SSH? No idea what those are.

RDP = Remote Desktop Protocol
start -> programs -> Accessories -> Communications

Its hwat you use to login remotely to your windows server.

SSH is what you use to remote into your Linux server. Putty is a god client for SSH.

Klaude what have you done...people are to use to cortex now.

Thats a good thing, right? icon_smile.gif Well from a developer perspective thats good stuff. I'm still waiting for a guy to write a cortex for dummies book. When other people start writing books about how to use your product then you know you've made it. icon_biggrin.gif

Nurgling: what operating system runs on your server?

Windows 2003 is what I asked to be installed.

Incidentally, Remote Desktop Connection which you use to access your Windows Server is available as part of the Windows XP offering, if you are not using that or any Windows OS which comes with it, you may download it for free from Microsoft.

Follow the instructions the other have pasted. Once logged in you'll see the desktop for your server. It should look a lot like your computer's desktop, and you can control your server here just like how you control your desktop computer. Use a web browser to download the program, double click the icon to run it, use notepad to edit your config files, etc. icon_smile.gif

mstsc /console

Might be a better one to use, some commands only work if you are logged in at the actual machine - but since that is not possible, if you add the /console to the end of the command...it will log you in as if you were actually typing on a keyboard/etc plugged into the server.

Other than that, its no different than normal Remote Desktop.
