Greetings,
It's been a while since I've updated you on our network enhancements. We've made some changes that I hope you will find as exciting as I do.
First of all, we've completed the first phase of our upgrades to enable 10Gigabit handoffs to our providers. These upgrades were completed last month, and since then we've actually turned up 2 10-Gigabit connections. The first one we turned up was Savvis (a couple of weeks ago) and the latest is to Level(3). We will be turning up a 3rd 10-Gigabit connection soon (Global Crossing) and expect to have 2-3 more in the coming months.
So what does this mean for you? Well - it means that we have unrivaled network capacity to meet all the bandwidth needs our customers might have now and well into the future.
I want to thank and congratulate our director of network engineering Chris Turbeville and his team of network engineers for getting all of this work done in a relatively transparent manner. They put in a lot of late nights to make this transition as smooth as possible.
We'll soon launch the second phase of network expansion, which means we'll be extending 10G connectivity to our datacenters as well. I'm sure Chris will make every effort to ensure that this goes as smoothly as the other work has.
I hope all of you are as excited as I am about these changes. We promised this a while ago, and while it took a little longer than I'd wanted - it's been well worth the wait.
As always - we appreciate your continued business, and we look forward to working with you to meet all your needs well into the future. I welcome any feedback you might have, so please feel free to drop me a PM.
