I need make a backup of the following applications:
- cpanel
- exim (emails and configuration)
- apache

These are my questions:
1.- What is that I have to backup of each application, the complete directory or just the configuration files?
2.- Which are those configuration files?
3.- or which is the correct way to do this backups?
4.- There is some special way to backup the e-mails of each of my accounts?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Your best bet would be to use the backup tool that is built into cPanel. It will backup all of your clients data and your cPanel/service configuration files.

Thank you kfukasawa for your answer, is absolutely correct, I have seen that option within cpanel.

However I want to know which are the files that backups take, since I am using "dar" and later send them via scp.
Note: I have several sites and actually I backup its respective directory, but I pretend to backup his complete configuration of WHM & cpanel.

Is valid to schedule the backup in the WHM option > backup > Configure backup, and later go to path "Backup Destination" and backups the files that I find there?

Thankyou again. icon_smile.gif

That is exactly the way to do it. You can just copy all of the files from the backup directory to your remote backup location. Recovery just requires you to copy them back to your server. You can then use the restoration tool in WHM.
