I am looking to purchase a server from one of the planet family of server lines. I am hell bent on using FreeBSD and cPanel since that is what I am familiar and comfortable with. I can only use FreeBSD v5.4 since cPanel only supports up to that version. I would like to find out if the hardware from the following servers I am considering are fully compatible with v5.4

TCS P2800S
TCS P2800
SUPER XEON

I know FreeBSD has limited SATA support which is the main issue, but are the SUPER XEON and P2800 normal IDE?

Thanks in advance for your help.

A client of mine has a Dual CPU Xeon with 1 GB of ram and a 80 GB Ide hard drive and it runs FreeBSD 6.1.

Your best bet would be to contact sales and find out, they should know, and if it does not work they can't give you a server without an OS installed so then you need to get another one!

I called sales and they said it "should" be compatible, however I would like a more definate answer.
