Our DX2 Server could use some more memory, but damn they want a lot for it ($300.00/GB)!!!! The hardware isn't that state of the art anymore is it? Are there any cheaper upgrade options?

On my DX2.8 I bought 512MB of RAM for the one time price of $150 and I pay $20/month a for the other 512MB. I have 1.5 GB in total.
I've paid more than the one time fee now with the monthly RAM but I never knew how long I would have the server so it was a safer bet at the time.
