My logfiles where getting too big. Some of them are automatically rotated with cron. I'm trying to figure out how to have them deleted after so many days. How can I do this?

You need to check out the logrotate configuration files in '/etc/logrotate.d'. The setup of logrotate is pretty straight forward. I recommend checking out the man page for it.
