I'm looking for helpdesk & Billing software, just starting out as a host so forking out loads of money at this point is not an option, I'm looking for cheap as possible software thats secure and at least decent, I understand you get what you pay for.

I have looked at cerberus-gui but the install is pretty difficult can anyone recommend anything that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

Whats your budget? How much can / are you willing to spend?
TheBen
I'm not sure, lets say $100 just now and thats me pushing it.

As far as monthly,

Modernbill $25 / m
WHM AutoPilot $20 / m
clientexec $11.95 / m (this is $125 for an owned license).
TAK
I recommend ClientExec. It is easy to use (for both admin and clients) and they are making steady progress in improving it. Also the price is reasonable.

Modernbill I found was a bit too complicated and is overkill unless you are running a large business.

WHMAP was alright, however as far as I could tell it didn't seem to allow you to bill for anything other than hosting (which is something I needed).
AreYouServed
I echo TAK's comments.

We've used Client Exec up until this point, but have outgrown it for our use, and are switching to a new system, but CE has served us well.
Blue|Fusion
I, too, suggest CE. I've used ModernBill and WHMAutoPilot before. I switched to CE for the ease of use for both admin and client as well as options to bill for more than just the subscribed hosting. Now that the 2.7 version is going to have a Directi domain registration tool, I'm sticking with the switch for sure (although I made the switch almost a year ago :-)).

My company just switched from WHMAP to MB.

We use a custom built biling/management system.

I use both Quickbooks and Peachtree on top of Modernbill. Heh. I like QB for book management, PT for payroll, and MB for customer management.

Glad to hear you found what worked out best for you. icon_smile.gif Best of luck with Clientexec, many of my friends have used that and not had a problem with it. icon_smile.gif
