Hello all...
I run a w2k3SP2/IIS6 ASP server here. And I've just noticed that for any domain I have, where an ASP error might occur, I am now getting that no-help error message that simply says "Internal Server Error"
I have checked in my browser, and Tools>Options>Advanced>Browser>Show Friendly HTTP error messages IS turned off...ie unchecked.
I have checked in IIS6 for a domain on that server, and yup in the Config>Debugging screen, the "Send detialed ASP error messages to client" is enabled.
Yet I continue to see the stupid default message.
Why? WHat have I not done or turned on to enable the ASP detailed error messages from showing up?

Are you running Plesk on the server?

yup...7.5.6 for w2k3....
why, I've never found a setting in Plesk that controls the friendly http error messages....
or have I been asleep?

It's Plesk doing you wrong. Here's the fix:
Go to Domains > *domain name* > Web Directories
Then click on the "Error documents" tab.
Change all of the ones that start with 500 to "Default". At the minimum, change the one labeled "500.100"
That will now show you the standard ASP error message.

thanks JDC...that was exactly the problem. I just added MSSQLServer to my box, and they had to upgrade Plesk to 7.5.6 so I dont as yet "know" that cp....
stupid tho...why'nt it allow me to make changes to ALL the errors at once, ie make them all Default instead of having to go thru them one at a time...
?

I think under the "Setup" icon there is a checkbox to disable custom errors for the domain. That's quite a bit faster!
