Are there any terms or rules on transfering server to a different person? I know there is a $75 transfer fee but not sure if it has to be transfer to only current customers since currently they not selling servers to the public.

Well, you can transfer to someone who is an existing customer or to someone outside. With an existing customer, you just need to provide their username and they will handle the rest but with a new customer, you need gather a lot more information.

I guess the other thing would be to do a good housekeeping, make sure that all your sensitive data and passwords are removed from that server before you initiate the transfer.

Once you set the transfer in motion, it is the new owner which would need to do all the work. The $75 transfer fees can be bore by the existing owner or the new owners, that is something you decide. Then maybe you need the $25 OS Reload. That's basically it.

I think you should create a new topic in The Lounge where others can see it and make sure you mentioned that you are planning to give up the server. By the way, which plan is it ? And you did mentioned that the $200 includes the $75 transfer fees ? You could let the new owners pay the transfer fees, that's what most of us would do then you can keep what you are asking for at $75 less. This will limit the additional work you need to do to pay that $75 to The Planet.
