Hello,

I have been breaking my head open for a litle while now trying to get my server up and running. here is my deal. Customer support from godaddy.com told me that i can use ns1.mydomain.com and ns2.mydomain.com to point to the same IP address that my ISP gives me which is only one. that said and done all i basically need(thats what they told me) is to setup my zones from my dns server which is the same box. I'm only using one machine here.
So. in my dns zone for my domain i have ns1.mydomain.com pointing to my ip address, but not the IP the ISP gives me, i did it with the local ip(ex: 169.168.1.100) and i did the same for ns2.mydomain.com and www.mydomain.com. NS1.mydomain.com is set as primary. so when i type NS1.mydomain.com into my webbrowser i gets me right into my webpage (good sin i think?) and everything worksfine, same if i type localhost, mydomain, computename.mydomain. But the only deal is that i get nothing when i try to do it from another computer not on the network. dnsreport says that it failed or that my NS had a slow responce or are not reachable.

1-should i be using the IP that my ISP gives me when i define my zones?
2-what should i use for www?
3-can i use both ns1.mydomain.com and ns2.mydomain.com to point to the same IP my ISP gives me?
4-last but not least, what in the heck i'm i doing WRONG>? and how can i fix this, i'm a little frustrated, i'm a newbie to the forum by the way.
