I have several people complaining about shots not registering on CS servers I host.
I have no idea what the problem is. CPU resource usage is not the problem.
Anyone have an idea as to what I should be looking at ?
Thanks much for any info

Whats your tickrate?

Tickrate for CS server was default.

Also confirm what the clients have their rates set at. People often play with their rate settings cause their friends tell them "do this and you will pwn" and actually make things worse.
I know that higher tickrates do help with shot registration, but a default settings server should not be that bad.

Please add this to your startup string for CS:S
-tickrate 100
Also, suggest to them to use the CSP-Cal Server Plugin. This locks the interp settings and makes a more fair game for everyone.
Most people complain because they do not use burst fire and properly control their recoil.

this was for CS 1.6 not CSS but thanks though.
I'm trying sys_tickrate 1000 now, normal CS 1.6 default is sys_ticrate 100.
I'll see what happens. I doubt the clients have odd settings on their end since i've heard it from several people lately.
Thanks for your suggestions and any others as well.

Restart your server daily. If you are using it for competition, put -tickrate 100 in your commandline. If it is public, -tickrate 66 should do fine.
