I guess my main question is if I install the ASPX Plugin, would my server support ASP?

I am running RHE3 with CPanel 10.8+

Has anyone istalled the ASPX Plugin yet?

I am thinking of offering ASP and ASPX to my client, but apach ASP doesn;t do it

My observation is that if you want to provide ASP or ASPX support, it is best to use a Windows Server where it is well supported.

ASPX is ASP.NET based on the .NET Framework which is vastly different from ASP itself. The only similarity is that both are Microsoft Technologies.

Windows is not an option

I have used apache::ASP in the past, but it has caused some major problems... If i cannot support ASP on a linux box then I won;t, I will never switch to a windows POS box icon_smile.gif

There is nothing wrong with the Windows Server but I guess it is more an issue of personal preference.

In any case, like I say, the best implementation is through a Windows Server otherwise it is not worth considering.

There's an aspx beta in CPanel add-in modules. It uses MONO for the .NET engine. I've loaded it on a server recently, but haven't gotten around to trying it.

A few months back, I loaded it on a server I was about to cancel and also loaded one of the JAVA modules (Tomcat IIRC) and the web server stopped working so all I can say is BE CAREFUL!

I'm going to do some more research before trying it on an actual site. Unfortunately, after being sick for a week with some low grade flu that's going around locally, I'm too far behind to check it out for you anytime soon.

NP DBall, any findings will be help full... PHP Is more popular anyways, but i still wanted to cover the other markets... If it doesn;t work then I will have to do with out... I have had bad experiences with Windows server, all through College and in the wrkplce, the only OS that has come through time and time again is Linux... never had any major problems that couldn;t be fixed without a little TLC...
