Hi, a have a hosting server, actually i cant even pay for the server if this keeps going on, i have just a few clients with the smallest plans, like 15.
The problem is that forums are so popular know that everybody wants a forum. Im getting too many mysql connections errors now. I had the same problem before with a client that had 200 simultaneos users, so i suspended the account, but know it seems the connections are balanced over differents accounts. So my server is overload and i cant sell any more accounts since with only 15 clients its overloaded. Im seriously thinking of charging extra for MYSQL. Forums are popular like phpbb, invision, so all clients want them or have it. I will try some config for the mysql i saw in here on the forums it seems for some people i read it solved the forums problems. My questions are, of if you have suggestions please help, since with so a few clients renting a whole server for me is useless, i dont get even the half of the money. My questions are:
Where can i see wich MYSQL database is getting more connections, so i can suspend the account or charge extra, at least wich domain is eating more ram with mysql? I want to find the heavy user.
Also with 1 GB ram how much should i put as limit for max connections for mysql. I dont know really how many connections can a simple server handle. 100 , 200 ???

I have RED HAT ES and Plesk, Celeron, 1 GB Ram. I know its a cheap server, but at least i should be able to host 50 domains right?, i saw people with 800 domains how they did it dont know. What im doing wrong?, should i disable mysql ? But most hosts know offer this option even on small accounts.

Thanks,
challii
turn off persistant connections, lower your wait timeout and this should help kill off some of those connections.

Also, install something like mytop and see whats actually going on.
