can someone run me thru the correct setup to access the NAS storage system so that i can mount and unmount it as a backup drive to do incremental backups from within WHM?

Ive read so many conflicting posts in here that im totally lost

You need to mount the drive using Samba.

But don't mount the NAS backup drive/space permanently. I read the rules as not serving websites from the space. But I got "ticked off" by Support for mounting my NAS space permanently just for doing small backups throughout the day to it.

Problem is that cPanel backup doesn't always dismount the drive properly icon_sad.gif

That it does not; I had it where I would end up with about 50 dead connections to nas because it didn’t unmount properly.

I wound up just getting a second hard drive...only cost one time $150. ALOT less aggravation impo.
