I apologize if this has already been answered, but I searched through the forum, and was unable to find an answer.

Does anyone here know of a way to add cvars to the mapcycle file for 'Soldier of Fortune II' in Cortex? I've been running SOF2 servers for a long time, but I've only been using Cortex for a few months now. I've tried manually uploading and replacing the "server.mapcycle" file that Cortex creates by default, but it eventually just overwrites it with the default one it created, which doesn't contain any special cvars.

Here's some of the special cvars I'm referring to, which I would like to include in my mapcycle file:

CODE
g_motd

g_speed

g_gravity

g_suddendeath

g_friendlyfire

dmflags

seta disable_weapon_knife

seta disable_pickup_weapon_US_SOCOM

seta disable_pickup_weapon_M19

seta disable_pickup_weapon_silvertalon

seta disable_pickup_weapon_microuzi

seta disable_pickup_weapon_M3A1

seta disable_pickup_weapon_MP5

seta disable_pickup_weapon_USAS_12

seta disable_pickup_weapon_M590

seta disable_pickup_weapon_MSG90A1

seta disable_pickup_weapon_M4

seta disable_pickup_weapon_AK_74

seta disable_pickup_weapon_SIG551

seta disable_pickup_weapon_OICW

seta disable_pickup_weapon_M60

seta disable_pickup_weapon_RPG_7

seta disable_pickup_weapon_MM_1

seta disable_pickup_weapon_M84

seta disable_pickup_weapon_SMOHG92

seta disable_pickup_weapon_AN_M14

seta disable_pickup_weapon_M15

Before I started using Cortex, I used the cvars above in my mapcycle. I did this, because I prefer to use different settings on certain maps.

Does anyone know of a way to accomplish what I described?

If not, would it be possible to impliment this into a future release of Cortex?

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Right now this isn't possible in Cortex. The only way to do this would be to upload your own mapcycle file. I'll see what we can do about it though for Cortex.

Thanks for the reply. Uploading my own custom mapcycle only seems to work temporarily, because Cortex eventually overwrites it with the default one it creates. Maybe as a solution, you could add a field in Cortex to designate the name of the mapcycle file you want to use? In which case the admin would just name their custom mapcycle file something other than "server.mapcycle". Maybe taking it a step further, when doing this, you could also allow the "Edit Maps" module for this game to be disabled so that Cortex wouldn't actively try to force it's own default mapcycle file?

This is just an idea. I know you guys will come up with a good solution when you can.

ECF, thanks for the link! I've used this site in the past, and I agree, it's definitely a good resource for mapcycle files.

Thanks!
