I have a FTP NAS HD Backup at theplanet.com (40gb)
My question:
- using my FTP generic software on my desktop computer, how to connect via FTP into my FTP Nas harddisk Backup? I try it and failed always.
Thank you

The NAS server is accessible only from server inside of the network. You can not connect to the NAS servers from outside of their datacenters.

What blue said...
"NOTE: This service is only available within our network, (I.E. from your
server) and will not operate outside our network. (I.E. your home or office)"
That is a quote from the NAS service setup email.

I am not sure if it is possible with Linux but in Windows, you could mount the NAS as a network drive and then just set an account to FTP Server which points to a folder at the NAS and that should do the trick.
However, you might want to check with The Planet if this is within the AUP if you do so.

Did you check? I never have/did.

Just got off the phone with Paul @ support.
He said it doesn’t break any rules however they don’t support it. If something were to go wrong with files on NAS it would be on you, Not TP/SM.
It’s something they don’t recommend as well as don’t have a rule for.
Aside from that if I’m not mistaken NAS drives usually go stale after a while don’t they?

I've not checked. I am actually uploading to my secondary harddisk then have the backup software push it to NAS.

Use your server as a go between. Download it to your dedicated server then fire up an FTP daemon or something to send it home.
