Hi all, I registered 2 new domains and assigned the following Nameservers:

NS1.THEPLANET.COM NS2.THEPLANET.COM

I have also created 2 new accounts for my server.. one for each new domain.

Up until now, I am still unable to access both of my new domains by using (eg. http://newdomain1.us, http://newdomain2.org)

What am I doing wrong?

I also went to the ORBIT support portal and looked for my 2 new domains in the "Domain Name Administration" section but it is not listed there. How long does it take for my 2 new domains to show up in Orbit's Domain Name Administration screen? Do I need to do something for it to show up?

Please bear with me... it's been a while since I last setup a new account on my server and I just cannot remember how I did it before. :-)

Thank you.

Well, there is actually 3 steps which needs to be taken here.

1) First when you create the site on your server, you will assign an IP to which to look up the site.

2) Then go to DNS Change Request in Orbit https://orbit.theplanet.com/nav_domain/a2_d...ns_request.html and then type in the domain name and mentioned the IP to which the site would be hosted on.

3) At your domain name registrar, add ns1 / ns2.theplanet.com as the DNS Servers.

Step 2 is not automated but it should not take more than several hours for tech to add you to their DNS Servers and 24 to 48 hours after that for it to propagate.

You can use http://www.dnsreports.com to verify if the DNS is properly set up.

Thanks for the response.

I did all the 3 steps you mentioned above. The only thing I am waiting on is #2.. none of the theplanet techs have responded to my request yet... I don't know if I should submit another ticket.
