I think it would behoove all admins offering ranked and unranked servers to have this option. Most of the business for game servers comes from clans that are all trying to compete to be the best in some league.

If you give them a free strategy program with TS or at a great cost it would be a fairly comprehensive package for a competitive clan to use your service.

Anyways I'd like to see support for this program. I'm sure you have a lot of clans that do business directly with you and since BF2 is hot it would make sense to offer the support.

there arent any custom files for ranked servers so i doubt they could do that, as for unranked servers you should be able to easily install manually.

I've been told that there are some proggies that can be installed on Ranked servers but not a lot.

I'd install ATC myself if I had root access on a Ranked box.

I'm just trying to circumvent any additional admin charges for such a widely used program in the BF2 community.

Thats a pretty nifty program. I dont know why you'd want it for a ranked server though.

I can tell you that there are many clans holding back on buying a dedicated through you because of uncertainty of support, and additional fees, for NECESSARY COMPETITIVE clan files like this on a ranked dedicated.

Realistally most clans are trying to do the following on one dedicated box. (I already confirmed this would be a popular setup with 4 clans that I know have dedicated boxes through TP/I365)

1 Ranked Server
1 Unranked Server (TWL and CAL standard)
1 Voice Comm Software (TS or Ventrilo 2.1.X Server ver)
1 ATC 4 BF2
Maybe some other games as well depending if they're a multi-gaming community.

I know that I have guys in my clan who love to develop strats on their own time and get back to the clan once they have devised a clever strat. They then ask us to come in and check it out and we provide praises and criticisms. My clan also uses this program EVERY time we have a competitive match to refresh our clanmates memory on what their role in the match will be. Its a must for any BF2 clan that even likes to scrim.

Now I understand that your asking why this would be necessary for some of the resellers. Its simply an added service they could throw in for free, or charge an extra 2-3 bucks a month to host. It virtually uses very little bandwidth and uses about 40 megs of memory. I'm sure they have a lot of customers that are in competitive clans that would be interested.

ATC is completely seperate from BF2. I think it would be nice to be able to install it like other games so clans can prepare for matches.

Hey guys I've waited a while to bump this again. I know there were many more important updates at the time I first started the thread.

I use ATC all the time for my guys since we have about 3-5 matches a week.

Kev... this program is fairly static and rarely changes... its just a strat making program for BF2ers

I just think for a dedicated box that I have no access to install programs on, that this should be highly considered for your BF2 guys.

Any BF2 team in competition uses this in some way for their strats. I don't know a clan that doesn't that can actually compete.

You can't go charging for TS without a license, that is a no-no...

We're running our main ranked server and an unranked match server on our box. We have started using ATC and it's great! I would love to see this supported by Cortex!

Right now we have to host it on someone's personal computer (dsl line) before every match

Once we start running mods and no longer need a ranked server it won't be an issue but that's going to be quite some time from now.

I wouldnt also mind having this added to Cortex, its a great program, and can help my clan perpare for matches alot better.

I'll look into it over the weekend and see if it's something we can throw in with the SF update.
