Ok, by what I about to ask you will know I am a newb but I have a question about COD-UO map downloads. I am trying to redirect from my game server to download custom maps. Having trouble trying to set up a site on my box to store the files and access the right URL so I can put that in the config in COD. I ask for some help for the guys at planet but they said it couldn't be done without a script file in the game, but I don't think I am asking anything about a script file in the game. Besides the config in the game if set up right, I thought would redirect, take you out of the game, download game, and reinsert you into game after download. One person told me it could not be done without scripting and after i talked to someone else, he said he would get back to me, but all he did was close ticket. haha
All I am looking for is:

A: Help to set up an area on my server to store files that can be accessed for map downloads.
B: Help to get the right URL address to make the connections for downloads.

Sorry maybe I am asking for help that is too easy to be worthy of an answer, but all I am asking for is help.

Thanks MadJMax

Yet another reason why you don't rent a game machine from a 'Web hosting' company icon_wink.gif

MadJMax,
All you need to do is upload all your custom maps/mods/gametypes to a web accessable folder either on your machine or ideally on your website.

Make a folder structure on your site for example /redirects/cod/ and dump everything in it.

Now you should have something like this:

http://mydomain.com/redirects/cod/

Now just put that URL in the "Redirect to:" section of your CODUO server.ini and you now have file redirects. icon_smile.gif

**Make sure you have the exact URL including trailing "/"

You can also compress the maps using a dos command or with an external program made for this purpose. The point of compressing the files is to further speed up downloads.

Hope this helps icon_smile.gif

Ok this might be where I was going wrong, after putting them on the FTP site, I should direct it to HTTP not FTP? icon_redface.gif
