Can someone please clarify one issue I am having with NS2.

I have set up my DNS on my windows 2003 box, NS1 points to my DNS set up and works great. If i enter ns1.mydomain.com into IE it points back to my server and is directed to my site (I set up www to test and it displays a my web page)

I submitted a ticket with SM requesting a SLAVE zone be set up for mydomain.com and ask them to point to my IP of my DNS. I have NS2 pointing to 216.185.111.10.

Therefore, when I enter NS2.mydomain.com into IE, should it not point back to my DNS and also display my temp. web page?

Thanks

No, what you are doing with your NS2 is to alias that of The Planet's own NS2. The IP you provided 216.x.x.x is that of The Planet. If anything, it should point back to The Planet's DNS Server instead and as far as I know, it does not have a temporary holding page.

Do a traceroute and see if it points back to their DNS Server.

You can only make it point back to your server if you set up the NS2 as your very own.
