Full Version: Provisioning Ips takes too long

I have been a long time Planet Customer (before server matrix was even in existance) and it appears the new provisioning system in place for requesting Ips does not work as it should.

I understand why the new process of sending Ip requests to billing before they are provisioned so you can ensure they are properly added to invoices, however, you base the assumption on the fact that the billing department will promptly get to the requests.

I currently have a ticket which I requested over 52 hours ago for Ips which is still stuck waiting for billing to respond. I assume I will not hear back about new Ips until at least another 8 hours or probably tomorrow. This is not an isolated occurence. The fact that billing only works normal business hours seems to put too much stress on them to handle Ip requests. In the past I have waited almost five days, four days and on average 48 hours for billing to process Ips. I already try to plan lead time when requesting additional Ips for new servers but clearly the turn around time should be quicker.

It is obvious that there are technicans who can route the Ips at any time of the day therefore there should be some method so this can be done. It does not seem logical to have such a backlog at billing when there can be other solutions available.

What I don't get is why this can't be automated. Why does billing even need to get involved? Just charge my card on file and create a ticket for the techs to do the routing. Simple as that and shouldn't take more than 15 minutes...

Not sure why but a couple of weeks ago, I asked for an additional batch of IPs and was allocated them in less than 12 hours and that is even with Accounting getting involved.

Yeah, but they like you, Eddy. You spend so much time on these forums, you're almost an employee icon_mrgreen.gif

I think it really depends. Sometimes my requests gets updated almost like less than 15 mins sometimes it takes more than 2 days even! Just had to drop them another ticket, mail or phone call. I think the tech supports get really busy sometimes and might have either overlooked or schedule some tasks at a later stage. It happens at our office too! icon_smile.gif

You should! Your replies to some of the questions here are better and longer than the replies some techs put in tickets icon_razz.gif

What sort of voodoo did you have to do to get Accounting to respond that quickly?
TAK
I'm finding IP the provisioning of IPs a bit slow too. Already been about 36 hours, and I don't expect the order to be processed for another 12-24. On the positive side, I'm not in much of a rush - but still for people who need the IPs ASAP it is not good.

Note: Server in D4

He just opens his tickets with, "hey it's eddy2099, Ive got almost 8000 posts on your support forum and need a new batch of ip's." icon_lol.gif
eddy2099
Haa haa, that might help.. but then again, even if I don't mentioned that, they seems to know icon_wink.gif Besides, I don't bug them that often.

This should be fixed in the very near future. We're aware of the delays associated with requesting new IPs.
