Hi,

My name is Cleber, of Brazil.

Please, they send me information on the service of the WWW.GLOBALSERVERCENTER.COM; I want to make a small company of hosting, pra to house about 500 sites small.

What are you asking, exactly? Are you looking for your own server for about 500 small sites?

he is using a translator to post im guessing. alot of his words are backwards.

I think he is asking what server would be the best to do what he specified. Someone get an English to Portuguese translation program and ask him what he needs wink.gif

The globalservercenter bit is the one which confuses me. I am not sure if he owns that company or whats to do exactly what the company is doing or he has a server there now and wants to move his business here.

In any case, I would recommend a minimum of a P4 2.8 server for what he needs, counting that they are small accounts.

My native language is portuguese too, maybe he want ask if globalservercenter was a good service for your hosting company. However this thread seems off-topic.

I already have seen one 500mhz/1gb RAM hosting about 400 small sites, of course very slow for scripting pages (like php, perl..), but working.

True, any server would probably be able to handle any number of sites or processes, it is only whether they are able to keep their heads up and still be fast enough.

Any process would just be queued and be processed when it reaches its turn.

yea i know that, but i was talking about keeping an above average page load time.

I got roughly a dozen site's on single 3.2 and I think its overloaded. Ofcourse 3 of them are getting alot of hits each day. dunno maybe im just a freak about stuff. icon_lol.gif

Sites with a lot of scripting require drastically more resources than sites that just sit there and host e-bay pictures or Jimmy's Family Album Script. I'm in the same boat as you Sublime, I hear about people who say "Oh about 500-750 sitse on a server" and I'm looking at my 20-30 sites and 60% CPU load and saying "No, I don't think that quite applies here"
eddy2099
I know. Personally, I wouldn't put more than 20 sites on a single server icon_wink.gif But it is just me. It sure is a lot easier to manage that way.

500 or even 1000 low traffic straight html static-content sites could consume far less resources than one single active php / mysql forum that wanted urchin stats run daily.
