I have a Red Hat Ent 3 server with Plesk and I would like to be able to admin my MySQL database remotely, but MySQL is currently setup to reject remote connections.

I know how to enable remote access using MySQL Control Center or MySQL Administrator but I cannot see how to do it from phpMyAdmin. Please can you tell me how to enable access from a specific IP address.

I have an 80Gb primary HDD but will be adding a 200Gb secondary which I want to use to store my MySQL data on. When buying the server I asked if this could be configured through Plesk and they said yes... please can someone tell me how to configure MySQL to store its data on the 2nd HDD from within Plesk?

Lastly, I need to use a newer version of MySQL than the one that its comes installed on the server (I need 4.0.20+). Is it easy to upgrade (A walk-through for a Linux newbie would be great)? Is there a danger that I could completely break the server? And after upgrading will I still be able to Admininstrate the database via Plesk?

Thanks
Ben
