Full Version: Sever Level File Manager in Plesk?

Hi,

I'm new to Linux (Red Hat Enterprise) and Plesk, but I'm learning.

One thing I've noticed about Plesk is that its very geared towards resellers, ie. dividing your server up into several virtual servers and letting clients manage those. My server is just for me however, and will have just one domain (For now).

I've created a client and domain, and the File Manager is very useful, however its based at the domain level... ie. you can only browse the file system of your virtual server and not the entire servers file system.

As far as I can see, theres not a server level File Manager on Plesk, or is there?

I do have a workaround though.... ie. use WinSCP to browse the filesystem in a secure FTP root session.

Thanks
Ben

Plesk's file manager for root level access is called 'SSH'. In other words, as far as I know, you'll have to SSH into the server if you want access to all domains or you'll have to setup some special account to do that which looks like you've already done with sftp.
