Full Version: changing main domain extension in WHM

One account I have has the .org extension as the main domain in WHM, and then the .net, .info, and .com extensions are parked on top of it.

I would like to change the main domain to be the .com extension. It seems easy, but before I do it, I want to make sure I am not overlooking anything.

Plan is... Within WHM to unpark .com from on top of .org, then "Modify Account" in WHM and change the extension of the main account from .org to .com, then to park .org on top of .com

Will that do it? Name server just points to the IP of the site for both domains, so that shouldn't be an issue...

Thanks for any help / suggestions!

LOL, you don't need a moustache icon_biggrin.gif But it wouldn't hurt!

I've changed the clients main domain name before without issue, and personally don't see anything wrong with your approach by removing the addon/parked domains first.... It 'should' work.

Thanks! I will try it this weekend.

Maybe I'll get a moustache anyway... I have no idea what it is all about, but I am getting one like Snively Whiplash... icon_lol.gif

That went well... thanks again.

And, even though I still don't understand it... I gave myself an avatar with a 'stache! icon_lol.gif
