For several months, we've received complaints from visitors of frequent Microsoft page errors "Server not found or DNS error". I use Firefox and frequently get the firefox popup saying it cannot connect with our site, and it usually happens many times a day. I do not experience this on other websites. These "outages" only last for a second or two, then the next refresh or page turn is fine. Since it is so intermittent, it's impossible to catch it through a traceroute. I've had complaints from all over the country, so it's not just my own connection.
The bad thing about this is that it affects our members use of our forum, because they will submit a new post and will get the page error and lose their post. It's irritating. It doesn't just happen on the forum, though, it happens on the main site with static html pages.
What can cause this? Could it be a loose connecton somewhere? A hardware issue?

Does this happen with other domains on the server?
I've had a similar problem before that had something to do with the domain registrar. I haven't got a clue why but the client who owned the domain transferred it to us i.e. away from that registrar and the problem stopped.

Thanks for the replies.
Daveh, I switched from Network Solutions to Registerfly in September, but my notes show this problem beginning in May. I've been with Servermatrix since April.
Dezignguy, I just checked and the NS look ok, other than a warning next to "Nameservers on separate class C's" Could this cause a problem?
I emailed support today and they suggested increasing the MaxClients to 300 and see if that helps. We'll give that a try, tomorrow is our busiest day of the week so we'll know pretty quickly if it works.
