If i signup for a security service through the planet, is there a logo that i can place on one of my domains that shows that the site is protected, with the current date like other solutions such as hackersafe:
http://www.scanalert.com
See hackersafe logo... what does the planet offer or can offer to place a live logo based on current server security?
Thanks!!

As I know SM/TP haven't provide any LOGO for theirs services.
Now if you signup with 3rd party services and theirs provide you a LOGO, so yes you can put what you want in your website pages like trusted logo, etc.

i would highly recommend SM/TP add this simple logo addition to their security services, as i'm sure that would dramatically increase the number of people securing their servers, if they could let traffic coming to their various websites know that their servers are secured from hackers, etc.

Dont you think this would open them p to some more liability, after all they are really reselling security services so they cant actually be held accountable. I dont disagree with what your asking, but just offering you another view.

I agree that a certain amount of accountability would be added ... but they can work around this i am sure.
For example, if they allowed for a "safe" logo to be displayed on our site. The logo would either appear if the server is safe, or would dissappear after 3 days of not being safe until the user fixes the security breach.
SM/TP could inform the server owner when a security breach has occured that would start the count down, before the "safe" logo is inactive. They could give step by step, keystroke by keystroke instructions on what needs to be done, but to maintain reduced liability... the would not have to fix the problem themselves... but would advice what needs to be done.
At the least, maybe they could work a deal with one of these vendors to include the logo program and security check to their current line up of services. And maybe outsource the liability to these outside vendors. Nothing like partnership!

Wouldn't this actually place a 'Dare' to would be hackers to try to break the site? I mean that most of the time hackers or crackers are in for the challenge more than to enter to steal anything, some do but most just do it for the thrill. So if you state that your site is hackerproof, wouldn't it pose to them as a challenger to want to hack the site more.
It would certainly be embarassing to ThePlanet as security is your duty and not theirs and that probably would open them up to unnecessary lawsuits and administrative headaches just for a couple of bucks.
Since you mentioned that there are already 3rd parties which offer that service, why not just go with them. SM/TP are server providers and any service they provide as an offset of that would just be for their customers and not to a 3rd party.
