Full Version: New Plesk Install
The Planet Forums > Control Panels > Plesk

I just got a plesk box from RS and uninstalled plesk, updated the system and then downloaded the newest version of plesk and and now trying to install it.

I keep on getting stuck on the same error... I don't have MySQL installed on the system or anything, it's clean.

Here's the error.

And then that's that. That's as far as the install will go, anyone ever had this error before or know what I should do here?

Thanks

What version of Plesk are you trying to install the RPM or Standard version??
iamdave
Are you loggen in as root, or super-user?

I get the same error when plesk is finishing install

It says there is an error dropping the test database.

I checked the permissions on the database and it will allow ANYONE to drop it.

so i don't know why i am getting this error.

Yes, I am logged in as root when I try doing this.

I have this server updated to the latest packages and kernel.

Remove the file /etc/my.cnf and try again.

I still get this error
Ronny
locate my.cnf

delete any instances of it off your server

then do

touch /tmp/mysql.sock
chmod 5777 /tmp/mysql.sock

touch /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock
chmod 5777 /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock

then reinstall plesk
