I updated my mailenable to version 1.8 from what I believe was 1.71

now when I try to make an account, or delete an account I keep getting errors, like this one for example when I try to delete one of the accounts

QUOTE
MailManager encounter an error: mailmng failed: COM Error 80004003( Invalid pointer) at execute console command --remove-mailname

can anyone help me? I have tons of domains with emails and I don't want to have to re-do every account if I were to do a fresh install of plesk :/

It looks like there are high integration between Plesk and MailEnable and by upgrading MailEnable, it might have broken that relationship. I did see some of the notes for some of the Plesk updates and it seems that they also does updates for MailEnable.

I do not have an answer to your questions but you might want to try posting in Plesk forum at http://forum.sw-soft.com/ . You might get people who face the same thing as you who might be able to point you to the right direction.

thx for your quick reply eddy, I already posted at sw-soft but I wanted to post here also just incase, I was thinking if I could get my hands on ME 1.71 it might fix it but I've been unable to find it
eddy2099
But generally speaking, are the mailboxes still working, ie that it allow you to send and receive emails ? If so, it is still not that bad as you might be able to add or remove email accounts through the Mail Enable own control panel for the time being. I know it is going to be a pain but that should do for now.
uniacid
yes luckily all the accounts made before the upgrade are in working condition but what is weird is when I try to make an account thru plesk it seems to make it but I still get an error, once I check ME itself it has the account I made listed but it doesn't list with Plesk
eddy2099
It definitely looks like an integration issue. Probably a lot has changed and thus somethings might have got knocked out.

For some reasons, I do have the installation file for Mail Enable Standard 1.72 lying on one of my servers. If you want to give it a try, PM me and I will set it up for you.
uniacid
Well I tried 1.72 thanks to eddy but unfortunately it did not work, I might put in a ticket with TP just to see if they can do anything, thanks again eddy
eddy2099
Sorry to hear that. Well, it seems like Plesk uses a very customized version of Mail Enable. I guess we just have to wait and see if there is anything Plesk could do to fix it.

You think the guide for Mail Enable Pro might help in this situation

http://www.xtra-swiss.net/me/ .

Worth the try. Just install Mail Enable Standard but follow through on the instruction.

question about the section in setup where you put the dns hosts: exactly what ip's should you put in there, theres 1 already in there but I have no idea if that would affect Plesk
eddy2099
I doubt the DNS entry would affect the integration. Since I am using The Planet's DNS servers, I entered the two IP addresses of their DNS servers with a spacing to separate the two.

Based on that concept, I would assume all you need to do is to enter the IPs which you set up for your DNS Servers.
uniacid
well I am using TP's DNS also, where would I find those again?
eddy2099
This came directly from my Mail Enable

216.185.111.10 69.56.222.10

You should find it in your 'Welcome to Servermatrix' email.
uniacid
alright well I put in a ticket with TP and it seems like they're going to fix it but I want to backup all my email accounts and settings, anyone know how I should do this exactly?
