I had the IP monitoring issue from the Orbit flooding me with this alert :

Additional Info: DNS CRITICAL - /usr/sbin/nslookup output parsing exited with no address

I get flooding mails during a week...

I work with the support to resolve it, but still can't fix it...

I added rules to my firewall, we do RDNS on the domaine...

I'm really fed up... Please, help me to correct this... Thanks.

If you are doing just straight DNS monitoring, the forward AND reverse records for that IP address need to match exactly. Also, recursive looksups need to be enabled, as I believe it does a lookup for www.networksolutions.com (or something like that).

Now, if you are doing custom DNS monitoring, the forward and reverse records will still have to match, however you just need to make sure that whatever zone you are monitoring is resolvable.
