I've read what the planet has said like everyone else, but now their Network description page shows:
Backbone Carriers
3 Gbps Direct Fiber - AT&T
4 Gbps Direct Fiber - AboveNet
2 Gbps Direct Fiber - Broadwing
2 Gbps Direct Fiber - Global Crossing
4 Gbps Direct Fiber - Level3
2 Gbps Direct Fiber - nLayer
3 Gbps Direct Fiber - Sprint
2 Gbps Direct Fiber - Time Warner
2 Gbps Direct Fiber - UUNET
2 Gbps Direct Fiber - Verio
I knew they were adding ATT, Level3, and Abovenet links... But did they upgrade UUNET, Verio, Time Warner, etc.... Or is this information incorrect/inflated?

Looks like a typo

Appears to be fixed now as it is currently showing 16 Gbits total! Still quite impressive!

Are they adding another globalcrossing pipe soon? The images all show 2 globalcrossing pipes, but the text and orbit only says 1...

Not for me - at
http://www.theplanet.com/datacenter.html it still shows 26 Gigs. It would be nice of course to have a few extra Gigs of free BW.
It seems that TP/SM webmaster had tired of having the site not up to date - and he is now adding the links and info ahead - in the network scheme both AT&T and GBLX links are allready up and running. May be the 26 Gbit thing is based on the inside information :-)
Talking about the sites - it's time to update both SM and TP front pages as one says 12 Gbit and other says 13 GBit with both mentioning only 9 and not 10 Premium providers. Or may be not yet?

Looks like they just took every provider and counted + 1. So, subtract the number of providers to the the exact count.
They will supposedly be at 22Gbps soon:
http://forums.servermatrix.com/viewtopic.php?t=10837 The upgrades were delayed for the new fiber equipment.

Yes another GBLX pipe is coming this week...
ThePlanet page is wrong, SM page is right which is where the confusion is coming from...

At least the Level3 graphs are a bit healthier now!

Can't each line do full duplex so technically so its 1gbit up 1gbit down = 2gbit

And yet it still doesnt add up.

We indeed had a typo on the site. Our apologies for that. Our web group has this fixed. Thanks for bringing this to our attention!
