Is there a chance in the near future that TP/SM customers can rent licences to Cortex on a monthly basis? I wouldnt mind paying $20/$30/Month for this app.

I doubt they will. This is a good way for them to get the GSPs over to the more expensive servers at i365.

They're not always more expensive. You have to consider what you're getting, which is Cortex (As he said, worth 20-30 dollars per month to him), as well as 10kRPM or 15kRPM hard drives, which seems to also be worth about 15 dollars per drive per month based on the differences in pricing on TotalControl boxes.

i365 servers are less than 45$ per month more than comparable SM boxes from what I remember, so they are a good deal for what you get.

What's stopping someone getting an i365 box and making a copy of cortex then using it on another box?

personally i would never want it anyway. Best deal right now is in orbit under account specials.

The servers are licensed with a hash specific to that machine's hardware ID. Moving the code to another machine will give you licensing errors if you try to use it.

From what I see, Cortex has the potential to become what Cpanel has done in the Control Panel industry. Cpanel was after all started in-house and then grew to what it is today. There is nothing wrong in Cortex being an in-house product until they iron out any bugs in it and ram up sufficient industry which could then go on to bigger grounds. I am sure when that happens Cortex would be offered to SM/TP first before the others.

Gaming seems is going to be a very very big thing in the near future especially online gaming.

You guys oughta really start selling licences to it. I think a game panel like that would make game administration so much easier. Definitely is compareable to game-cp.
