Full Version: Unable to delete domain.

I tried to add a domain through HELM but it was interrupted halfway. This caused the domain to be added in HELM but not in IIS.

Now when I try to delete this domain from HELM, it tells me "Unable to delete domain. Please try again or contact support."

What should I do? I am support!

What do the Helm error logs say?
hosting-hub

I have not made any changes to the default installation.

ASP.Net is not enabled or setup is wrong? Something is IIS is screwy.
hosting-hub

The WHA knowledgebase is your friend:

Incidentally, if the Pre-Install docs had been read, you would already have SOAP and XML 4.0 installed so this would never have happened. They can be found here:

I can tell you straight off the bat that your DNS server is either incorrectly set or not running. Did you change the name of your server recently?
macareno
No iam not...

Can you guide me how to fix it?

Tanks...
Kyle
In Helm, go to system settings > self diagnosis. Run it on your server and tell me what it says.

Try adding a domain again then.

I have seen this error happened a few times on our servers. What worked for us is to manually create the DNS zone needed before Helm will allow the domain deletion to complete. Same behavior if you try to delete an account with some resources that are already deleted or missing.

So, make sure sure your DNS server is running properly, verify that the zone is present, if not, re-add it manually. Then, try delete the domain again. If that fails again, check the error log and see what else it is complaining about (mailbox, databases, homedir, etc). Repeat and Rinse, until the domain is deleted successfully.

IMHO, this is a flaw in Helm's logic. It should allow some types of "forced deletion", especially if the item it tries to delete is already non-existent.
