Our server seems to have rebooted in the middle of the night, which log if any will tell me what caused this?
These servers aren't set to reboot on their own every 50 days or so are they?

You really should know where the logs are if you're running a server, but /var/log/messages would be a good place to start, see if anything happened before it rebooted.

Hmm there was some ftp activity 10 minutes before:
Sep 28 04:07:01 matrix syslogd 1.4.1: restart.
I don't see anything there that could cause a reboot.

Nevermind, i just looked in my junk-mail and saw a notice from the planet about installation of remote reboot on the 28th. This was the cause of the system rebooting, I hope they were able to do the work since I never updated my new password.
