Full Version: How to make a clone of my server for testing

Hello,

I would like to install a PC with a configuration as similar as possible to a RedHat Enterprise server (with no control panel). I will use this PC to test applications and configurations before doing it on the server.

I can't buy a RedHat Enterprise Linux licence, so I am wondering if there is a "trial/test/development" free license or, in case there isn't, whether it's best to install RH9 or Fedora latest.
I guess in the latter case I won't have access to the same tools for managing updates.

from their FAQ:
"CentOS-3 is designed for people who need an RHEL 3 compatible OS but who do not need strong support in order to achieve successful operation."

This is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you very much, parisdns.
