With the release of Virtual Server 2004 or VMWARE, has anybody started to use these products on their SM servers?

I can see this software help save on costs for us as clients and also for SM.

Just was curious if others have implemented or not?

Thanks!

I've played with both.
I don't see an advantage to running either. Unless you want to load, say FreeBSD on a Windows machine using the emulator. Even then, its laggy as heck.

Laggy?

I'm using VMware with no problems?

I've been playing around with VMware 4.5 on my laptop in order to run some linux apps under Windows.

It works well enough, but it's WAY slower than native. There's an enormous performance hit.

ServerMatrix already offers an effective virtualization solution that doesn't have much overhead, Virtuozzo, and it runs on both Linux and Windows.

Charsweb, I know it is nice that you post but you might want to check the date of the last post. This one happens to be about 1 1/2 years old. Best to just keep to current threads or else they might be irrelevant.
