Please, help SM to perform the RVskin offer...
damainman
RvSKin is not that expensive. I prefer having Fantasico free with SM as opposed to having RVskin free with SM.

I own a RVSkin license, and i personally don't think SM should provide it with their servers. Perhaps they can use the money they would've put into RvSkin to provide us with some sort of discount, or another type of discounted service icon_wink.gif

$90 for FANTASTICO

$99 for RVskin

Don't forget, all the Fantastico scripts are very easy to install !

In the over way RVskin give your final customer :

Multi languages
There are currently 20 languages supported; English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Swedish, Russian, Romanian, Dutch, Brazilian-Portuguese, Simplified-Chinese (GB), Traditional-Chinese (Big5), Polish, Italian, Arabic, Norwegian, Finnish, Indonesian, Japanese -shift_JIS and Japanese-ecu-JS under single Rvskin license. Moreover, user can change Rvskin language inside the control panel. For other languages is coming soon.

And more . . .

I'd like to see an option added to the poll:

3.) Cpanel + nothing for a couple dollars savings...
eddy2099
I've vote Cpanel + Nothing. If that would keep the cost of the server down and less vulnerable for those who do not need the extra, it be great. It would also allow those who require a different option to purchase their own add-ons. It would tame both camp and give more power to the customer. For now, if I were to opt for Cpanel, I am trapped with something I really do not need and indirectly paying for it.

More Free options means higher cost because money is not grown on trees and someone got to pay for it. Free means that you have no freedom to choose whether you want to pay for it or not. I doubt SM would absorb the cost and make a loss on each server being offered and if they do, they probably be paving their way to death.

Also more free or offered options means that there support team would have to be expanded to support yet another 3rd party option. I am pretty sure that they will have to deal with more mundane support questions about RVSkin and all those things which would bogged them down and slow down the level of support from what they are supposed to be doing.

I like the past when the options are simple and when support was faster and more personal. Now everything seems to be on the conveyor belt and time spend on the ticket is significant reduced.

If I vote, I would say reduce everything back to what it was before and we will all be happy with speedier support, not having to pay or subsidize other's needs.

Perhaps, the solution is cPanel XP 2004

[size=18]Cpanel Skin Lease : $7/server/month
Angel
they should offer it as a addon (5$ / month)
parisdns
If SM offer this option, I will be happy . . .
Paul
I'd prefer cPanel without anything added, but if they do offer rvskin to keep everyone happy they should have 4 cPanel options:
[list]cPanel $15/month
[*]cPanel + Fantastico $20/month
[*]cPanel + RVSkin $20/month
[*]cPanel + Fantastico + RVSkin $25 or $30/month[list]
Something along those lines with similar pricing breaks (if they can get the extras at a discounted rate that allows such prices)

Fantastico and RVSkin are not the same thing. You need to compare apples to apples. RVSkin is a skin or theme, Fantastico is a script installer. Maybe you mean something like XController vs RVSkin?

I'm agree with you.

I'm still thinking why pay for script installer :

1- It doesn't comes with the lastest scripts version.
2- all the FANTASTICO's scripts are very very very easy to install by yourself ( so you don't need it ).

Instead the FANTASTICO licence, lets SM give us the RVskin icon_idea.gif
eddy2099
Well, the thing is that not all customers who needs those scripts have the necessary skills to install them. With Fantastico, the customers can install the script with ease and proceed with their site. Some sites would depend on this scripts for its very existence. There are also some scripts which may require shell access to set up and not all web host would provide shell access to their customers.

RVSkin would only benefit the client but not the visitors which visits the site. Apart from the language translation, it does not provide any further value-added.

There are a ton of customers who may have no clue as to how to install a script and would rather just click a button or have someone else do it for them which is why script installers are becoming popular. This is probably why Plesk has a script installer builtin now.

Also, if they're going to provide RVSkin to Cpanel customers, what are they going to provide Plesk customers who are already paying 1 1/2x the monthly rate? Maybe they should raise the cpanel rate up to the Plesk rate and/or provide the rest of the Plesk tools like the website editor license? Afterall, they're about the same rate/value. This RVSkin only benefits the hosts customers and if it's that much of a value to the host, they can dish out $100 or whatever it is per server. I paid out more than that for the XController skin which, by the way, I'm selling now that I don't have a cpanel server anymore.
