I am wondering if this is OK to use on the P2800 system (2 IDE drives) and if anyone uses it and if anyone has had any problems with it. What kind of performance increases are attained by this?

As far as I can tell, all that does it rearrange the data on the harddrive to provide faster seek times, but that's pretty much obsolete now because linux rearranges data constantly now anyways.

I always thought it was a very basic hard drive settings optimizer... ie, using hdparm. I'm pretty sure it. It sets the drive's mode to 32 bit I/O... and maybe a few other things.
No, it doesn't rearrange the data on the hard drive... at least not on a linux box.

Yeah. That is what it does... Cpanel puts /scripts/hdparmon in the /etc/rc.d/rc.local file to do the optimizations on bootup...
Se this thread for how to tweak the settings yourself...

Thanks for the info.
dezignguy,
Are you saying that it is safe to use this in cPanel?

Yes, quite safe for cpanel.
