Full Version: Lame Nameservers
The Planet Forums > Control Panels > cPanel/WHM

Hi,

I have the following setup:

ns1.nameserver-1.net w/ DNSONLY cpanel
ns2.nameserver-1.net w/ DNSONLY cpanel
ns3.nameserver-1.net w/ cpanel
ns4.nameserver-1.net w/ cpanel

The DNSONLY nameservers report as lame. I've tried everything, but it just won't work.

If anyone has got any suggestions, tips or knows the problem, please let me know.

Thanks in advance!
Scott.

On your main cpanel server under clustering, you have the dropdown set to syncronize?

And the diagram looks like:

main host name
|
> dns only server host name

What happens if you login to the dns only cpanel and manually syncronize to update it's records from the master server?

Hey Jeff,

They're all set to sync. I've tried syncing from the dnsonly servers, it goes through but still doesn't work. I tried it earlier.

Cpanel's clustering doesn't work well. Try deleting the zone file for the account that's giving you trouble using Cpanel on the machine hosting the slave' DNS and recreate it again on the machine that is supposed to be the 'master'. That usually does the trick.
