Hi,
As a WebHost, I am oftnly asked if I can register domains for them, well would be cool if servermatrix could do it so that all domains would be one the same account( I could relate all my domains registered with my server invoice).
And Also, Orbit could developpe a script where webhosts could use this script to automatically add a domain and charge it to the webhost's invoice. Like that, we could provide domain registration.
Any other ideas?

They used to do it but if I recall correctly, it was for $40/yr or something. So far the trend shows that the add-ons or value-added which SM/TP comes out with are priced low but not as low as most of the competitions. If you want to save the buck, it might be better off going with someone which specializes in domain names only. I believe that this is so because SM/TP is a for-profit business and also their main business core is that of servers.

I believe they have plans to offer domain registration more prominently, either this or next month.
It would not be too hard either for them I supose and since they also offer SSL Certs, I can't see why they wouldn't offer domains.

we are in the process of becoming an ICANN accredited registrar so that we can offer agressive domain pricing to our customers and resellers. The process is time consuming, but we anticipate being live sometime in late October. Once live, all domains will be managed through ORBIT.

Wow, a full blown registrar
Might by just what the doctor ordered.
It would be so much love on my behalf if I can buy a domain and have it set in DNS on orbit right away

This would be great .. BUT .. please don't make the same mistake that EV1 made (from my point of view).
Give the domain registration service just to us, the dedicated server customers.
Also, don't offer them as "single" domain registration. Give us a good API and a lot of reseller features (like that of enom, which is great).
